I want to be the next Sheriff of Okaloosa County!
The Sheriff is the executive of the Office of Okaloosa County Sheriff. I am the only candidate for Okaloosa County Sheriff placed on the ballot by petitions from the citizens of Okaloosa County. These petitions came from a diverse group of concerned people of Okaloosa County concerned about the state of law enforcement.
Together with people who believe in Okaloosa County as a wonderful place to live, play, work and raise a family I went out and met the people and talked to them about why they were dissatisfied with the way things were going in Okaloosa County. Apparently they are not the only ones who believe there are problems that need solutions because we now have ex-Deputy Sheriff Robert L. Thacker, Jr. running for the office. We told the people why I am running for the Sheriff of Okaloosa County and why we thought there needed to be a New Sheriff In Town. We don't have a lot of money but we think that's a good thing. My campaign gets its support from the people. We have no vested interest or financial support from any special interest group. We are open to financial support from the people so that we may get our message out, but I intend to remain the people's candidate. Support from the people is the most fundamental aspect of our democratic way of life in this country and is as old as the country itself. This is important because I know and accept that the Sheriff is an elected official who serves the people. All the employees who work for the Sheriff's Office serve the people. I intend to make it a standard practice to be visible throughout the Okaloosa County community and integrate with other law enforcement elements in the county to function as a whole for the good of all the citizens of the county.

The personnel working in the sheriff's office will be assumed to be working "a day's work for a day's pay." It is the sheriff's responsibility to review the performance of these people and assess their compensation package .... |
