Dear Citizens of Okaloosa County,
My name is Bill Patterson and I am asking for your support for Sheriff in the Republican Primary on August 24, 2010. As your sheriff, I plan to introduce budget restraint within the Sheriff’s Department in order to control the cost of law enforcement in Okaloosa County. Once adopted, my plan will provide for a higher level of efficiency that will enable us to increase the effectiveness of the Sheriff’s Department, while controlling the cost of law enforcement.
I plan to enforce the constitution and the Laws of both the United States and the State of Florida in regard to illegal aliens. Although the Sheriff’s Department is subject to Federal and State Law Enforcement agencies in regard to illegal aliens, that does not suggest that we are helpless and unable to impact our own communities in regard to the economic hardship that illegal residents inflict on our county.
I plan to increase our commitment to drug enforcement laws in order to protect the family unit from the severe damage that is inflicted on our community by drug related crime.
I will make safer neighborhoods a priority. Our neighborhoods must be made safe for our children, senior citizens, and all who live here. Criminal's that prey on our children and our elderly people will be brought to justice swiftly.
With your help and support, I will provide new leadership and new direction within the sheriff’s department. I need your support to provide us all with this opportunity.
