Bill Patterson Submits Signatures Needed For Ballot Placement
For Sheriff in Okaloosa County Republican Primary 2008
“Change in Okaloosa County Sheriff’s department is long overdue”
Fort Walton Beach, FL - Bill Patterson of Fort Walton Beach has announced that the local Board of Elections has notified him of his eligibility for the Okaloosa County Republican Primary on August 26, 2008 as a candidate for Sheriff of Okaloosa County.
In order to qualify as a candidate for sheriff, a prospective candidate must either pay a filing fee of $7,846.56 or provide the Board of Elections with 1,244 signed petitions nominating a candidate for the office of Sheriff.
When Patterson planned his “fiscally sound campaign strategy,” he felt that the $7,846.56 filing fee was not a necessary expense. Bill wishes to thank the more than 1,300 registered voters who signed the Patterson petition and their strong show of support for the Patterson Pledge.
